Mirabel is a private, guard-gated luxury golf community in far North Scottsdale, Arizona (zip code 85262), built around a member-owned Tom Fazio championship course and a 37,000-square-foot Desert Lodge Clubhouse. Set on roughly 713 acres at nearly 3,000 feet of elevation, Mirabel holds only about 340 custom homesites, making it one of the most intimate, low-density golf communities in the entire Valley of the Sun.
As a North Scottsdale luxury specialist and a former collegiate golfer myself, Mirabel is one of my favorite communities to show. It doesn't try to be the biggest club in the desert. It's the opposite: quieter, more private, and built around a member-owned culture where the golf is world-class, and the neighbors actually know each other. If you want elite golf and elbow room instead of a mega-community, this guide is for you.
Mirabel sits in far North Scottsdale, on the south side of Cave Creek Road about two miles east of Pima Road — placing it directly south of the well-known Desert Mountain community. It carries the 85262 zip code, one of Scottsdale's most desirable luxury addresses.
What makes the setting special is the elevation. At close to 3,000 feet, Mirabel runs a few degrees cooler than the valley floor, and homesites capture sweeping views of Pinnacle Peak, the surrounding mountains, and the city lights of Scottsdale and Phoenix glittering below at night. The land was originally developed by Discovery Land Company, a name synonymous with some of the finest private club communities in the country.
Everyday conveniences are close without ever feeling crowded:
This is desert living with real breathing room, pristine open space, dark skies, and quiet.
The heart of the community is The Mirabel Club, and its centerpiece is the Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole championship course. Playing to a par of 71 and stretching past 7,100 yards from the tips, the layout is routinely ranked among the finest residential courses in America. Fazio's design is famous for being both beautiful and genuinely playable, generous fairways and forward tees welcome higher handicaps, while strategic bunkering and desert washes keep it challenging for low handicaps. Members consistently rave about the greens.
Beyond the course, the golf experience includes a premier practice facility, private and group instruction, junior programs, and a full tournament calendar, from the Coyote Combo Member-Member to the annual Club Championship. The club's culture leans welcoming rather than stuffy; single players and newcomers are folded into groups, which is a big part of why people fall in love with the place.
The ~37,000-square-foot Desert Lodge Clubhouse anchors the social side, with dining that ranges from casual to refined, plus concierge service and a busy year-round events calendar. Additional amenities include:
Mirabel describes itself as "small town friendly," and that's the honest truth of it.
This is the single most important thing for buyers to understand: club membership at Mirabel is separate from home ownership. Owning a home in Mirabel does not automatically make you a golf member and, notably, you do not have to own property inside Mirabel to apply for membership.
A few key points I walk every buyer through:
If golf access is a priority, membership availability and timing should be part of your buying strategy from day one.
Every home in Mirabel is a custom design, which is exactly why no two feel alike. Architecture ranges from classic Southwest and Spanish-influenced estates to warm ranch styles and sleek desert-contemporary builds. The community offers three residential paths: existing custom homes, lower-maintenance villa-style residences (the El Corazon homes), and custom homesites for buyers who want to build from the ground up.
What the homes look like:
Pricing in 2026: Because Mirabel is a low-density community of custom estates, pricing spans a wide band. As of 2026, resale homes generally list from the high-$2 millions into the $6 million-plus range, depending on size, location on the course, view, and finish level, with new custom builds and the largest estates commanding more. Custom homesites are also available. The HOA typically covers guard-gate security and front-yard/common-area maintenance, supporting a lock-and-leave lifestyle.
Mirabel is served by the Cave Creek Unified School District (CCUSD #93). Students are generally assigned to:
